Sheila Newenham, DVM — Co-Chief of Staff
Dr. Sheila Newenham, Co-Chief of Staff, graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and has enjoyed practicing at the Animal Hospital of Streamwood ever since. She has wanted to care for people's pets for as long as she can remember. For Dr. Sheila, helping people to better understand their pets, thereby enriching their relationships, is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job. She loves meeting new pets, watching families grow and counseling pet parents about preventive care and behavior/lifestyle issues. Getting to know the unique personality of a cat or kitten, who doesn't wear their heart on their sleeve like dogs do, always makes her day.
Dr. Sheila shares a home with her husband; their cats, Homer and Seward; Bridger, a nutty Vizsla; and Festus, a rescued German Short Hair Pointer. She likes to spend a lot of time in the garden, loves to travel and takes pleasure in nature photography.
